Soundtrack

Our soundtrack was created using a programme called Garage Band. We tried out different samples until we found some that we liked and thought would go well in a thriller production. After we had found the samples we wanted to use we tried a few orders until we came up with one that sounded the best, added a scary atmosphere to the film which we all liked.
After putting them in order we cut some down to size and made some bigger so it lasted around a minute. We also added some fades in and out to make it go together better and add extra tension. Our soundtrack will begin midway through the sequence, just after Abi is grabbed by the killer. This is why we added an alarm sample at the start to show the panic. The tense sounds after wards add to the tension and at mosphere, before it gets fast paced when Abi is running away.

Thriller Opening Example- Empire Of Dirt

Camerawork:
The camerawork was very good and all of the close ups worked really well with the atmosphere of the sequence. The view of the wall with graffiti on worked well before panning round to the person banging their head on the wall. The camera was not shaky either.

Editing:
It was edited really well and bits were cut short to give a fast pace and make it exiting to watch. The chains and writing on the paper gave it a feel of anticipation and the viewer is not sure what is going on.

Mis-En-Scene:
The screen was filled in every shot but with only one thing at a time so the viewer could concentrate on just that thing.

Soundtrack:
The soundtrack was well choreographed and suited the video really well. It added to the suspense and fear of the sequence.

Titles:
The titles were incorporated into the video so there were no black screens apart from the first one which was splitting up the audio and the video.

Thriller Opening Sequence

To prepare for our thriller opening project we watched an opening sequence from a famous film. Our film was 'The silence of the lambs'.

The opening sequence was approximately five minutes and most of it was of a woman on an assault course in a forest.
